Customers whose washers do not have Wi-Fi capability, or who wish to have a free software repair without connecting to the internet, should stop using their washer and contact Samsung directly. Samsung has received 51 reports of issues with the washer that include smoking, melting, overheating or fire. Customers can find the model and serial numbers by looking at the label inside of the washer’s top lid, or at the rear of the machine. Samsung is recalling more than 600,000 of its top-loading washing machines because of a risk of short-circuiting and overheating that can lead to a fire.
